According to SEPTA, high winds caused an 80-foot tree from a non-SEPTA property to fall across the tracks and onto power lines just south of Doylestown Station. The tree fell “in the moments just before the start of the service day” Monday morning, SEPTA said.
Repairs were still being made Monday evening. “Removing a very large tree is a difficult operation and once the tree is cleared, the power department has to repair all of the damaged wires,” SEPTA said on its website.

As of Monday evening, the Lansdale/Doylestown Line was only operating between Link Belt and Center City. No train service was available to or from Chalfont, New Britain, Del Val College or Doylestown.
“There is nothing we can do to unwind the inconvenience of the suspended service between Doylestown and Lansdale made more uncomfortable by the cold and wind this morning but we will keep you informed of our work progress,” SEPTA said.
SEPTA said updates on the line’s service will be posted to its website.
