Should Plastic Bags, Straws Be Banned In Doylestown?

Doylestown Borough is conducting a survey about how residents use single-use plastics around town.

DOYLESTOWN BOROUGH,PA — Doylestown Borough wants to ask you a few questions about plastics. Specifically, how you use plastics and if you would support bans on certain single-use items.

The survey is conducted by the Environment and Recreation Committee of Doylestown Borough Council and the Doylestown Borough Environmental Advisory Council. It is 13 questions and appears to gauge support for a ban on the distribution of single-use plastic bags, straws and Styrofoam take-out containers by Doylestown Borough businesses.

Nearby towns, including Lambertville, NJ, have recently instituted such bans.

"Your input will guide us as we consider the reduction of single-use plastic items that are provided by Borough businesses in order to decrease the solid waste that goes into landfills, reduce litter, and protect aquatic life," the borough says in introducing the survey.

The survey is expected to take about five minutes or less to complete. You can complete it here.
