Single Use Plastics, Old Neshaminy Manor On Doylestown Township Agenda

DOYLESTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Doylestown Township Board of Supervisors will meet Tuesday night, Jan. 17 beginning at 7 p.m. at the township building at 425 Wells Road.

The meeting will begin with the swearing in of a new police officer, Philip D. Singh, and a presentation by the Doylestown Township Environmental Advisory Council on single use plastics.

Under the solicitor's report, the supervisors will act on an agreement reached with the township's Police Benevolent Association. The board will also consider an amendment to its fireworks ordinance.

Under land development, representatives from the Bucks County Planning Commission are scheduled to make a presentation before the board focused on plans for the former Neshaminy Manor complex on Almshouse Road.

"One of the projects they are looking at is to put out a request for innovation to find vendors, people, builders and developers that are looking to do something unique with that space," said Supervisor Jennifer Herring at the December meeting. "They have talked about mixed use, accessible housing and other ideas, but they are waiting for the requests for innovation to come in to see what comes of it."

In other township news, the supervisors are currently accepting applications for vacancies on the following boards and committees: Agricultural Security Area Advisory Council, Capital Campaign Committee, Finance Committee, Historical Architectural Review Board, the Park & Recreation Board and the Pension Advisory Board.

The Christmas Tree drop off will continue throughout the month of January at the New Britain Road entrance to Central Park.

Leaf and yard waste recycling takes place the third Saturday of each month from 9 to 11 a.m. and on the first and fourth Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Drop off location is at the New Britain Road entrance to Central Park.
