Snow Emergency Declaration Issued In Doylestown Township

The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning for the region from 10 a.m. on Sunday to 6 p.m. on Monday.

DOYLESTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Doylestown Township has declared a Snow Emergency beginning on Sunday, February 22, in accordance with Township Ordinance 164-35.

During the snow emergency, the following rules and regulations will be enforced:

  • Parking is prohibited to allow for efficient plowing and road maintenance.
  • Ordinance 151-10 strictly prohibits plowing, shoveling, or blowing snow onto public roads. Violators may be subject to fines.
  • Residents are reminded to clear sidewalks and driveways safely and to give snowplows plenty of space to operate.

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly, New Jersey, has issued a blizzard warning for the area from 10 a.m. on Sunday to 6 p.m. on Monday.

Blizzard conditions are expected with snow accumulations of up to 12 inches and winds gusting up to 45 mph. Snowfall rates could exceed two inches an hour or higher Sunday night, with locally higher amounts and significant drifting of snow possible.

Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday morning and Monday evening commutes. Gust winds could bring down tree branches and result in isolated power outages.
