Tom Wolf Says He Won't Take Governor's Salary

Pennsylvania Governor-elect Tom Wolf said this week he won’t take the $187,256 salary that comes along with his new role.

Wolf, a Democrat who defeated incumbent Republican Tom Corbett during Tuesday’s election, said he’ll give the salary to charity or return it to the state, according to media reports.

Wolf also donated his salary when he served as Pennsylvania revenue secretary in 2007 and 2008, the York Dispatch reported.

Wolf, a successful businessman from York County, used millions of his own money to fund his campaign for governor.

Wolf received 55 percent of the vote, according to unofficial results.
