PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP, PA — The transformation of Cross Keys Place Shopping Center is nearing completion in Plumstead Township.

Weather permitting, the new free standing PJ Whelihan’s restaurant is expected to open by the end of March or early April, according to a spokesperson with the Waters Retail Group in Kennett Square.

When the 8,500 square feet freestanding restaurant opens, it will be the chain’s first in Bucks County.

In addition to the free standing restaurant, a new Marshalls & HomeGoods store is on track to open at the shopping center around May 1 at the site of the former Giant grocery store, which has relocated to the other end of the shopping center.

The new 58,000 square foot combination Marshalls & HomeGoods store will carry designer and brand names in ladies’ fashion, shoes, accessories, men’s apparel, juniors, kids’ apparel and accessories, luggage and beauty products, and has new items arriving every week.

On the HomeGoods side, the store sells discounted home interior products, including furnishings, gourmet kitchen and dining items, linens, outdoor living, pet accessories, storage containers and more.

TJX Companies Inc. owns both Marshalls and HomeGoods as well as TJ Maxx, Sierra Trading Post and Homesense. TJX calls itself the leading off-price retailer of apparel and home fashions in the U.S. and worldwide.

The Marshalls & HomeGoods store is relocating from the Barn Plaza Shopping Center on Route 611 in Doylestown Township. The former Marshalls store will be replaced by Whole Foods, which has signed a lease for the space, according to Brixmor, the company that manages the shopping center.

A spokesperson with Whole Foods said they do not have a projected opening date for the new store, which has generated excitement among grocery shoppers throughout the Doylestown area since the announcement of a lease agreement this past fall by Brixmor.

Other anchor tenants at the 212,000 square foot Cross Keys Place Shopping Center include a 72,000 square foot Giant Food store, a CVS Pharmacy, Five Below and Perkins.

The Cross Keys Place Shopping Center is located in Plumstead Township and is bounded by the Route 611 Bypass, North Easton Road (State Road 611) and Swamp Road (State Road 313).
