UPDATE: Five Injured In Crash On Route 611, One In Critical Condition

Five people were hurt in a crash on Route 611 Thursday morning in Warrington, according to The Intelligencer.

The highway was shut down for several hours in both directions in the wake of the accident, police confirmed.

The incident occurred just before 9:30 a.m. near the intersection with Bristol Road, Warwick Township police said.

A southbound 2002 Dodge Caravan was struck head-on by a northbound 2001 GMC Sierra pickup truck, according to the report.

The accident is currently being investigated and its cause is unknown.

A Connecticut mother, Cynthia Burton, 44, her two daughters, and a friend of the family were among those hurt in the Dodge, the Intelligencer reported.

The driver of the pickup was Matthew Erwin, 49, of Hatboro, the report states.

Cynthia Burton was airlifted to Abington Hospital-Jefferson Health in critical condition Thursday afternoon, while her daughter Rebecca was in fair condition.

Erwin was listed in serious condition.
