Vacancy On Central Bucks School Board, Application Deadline Is Friday

Stephen A. Corr has resigned as Central Bucks school director and now the board is seeking a replacement for Region 7.

Stephen A. Corr has resigned as school director, effective Feb.12.

The Central Bucks School District Board of Directors is seeking candidates for the position, which covers Region 7, Districts 2, 6, 7, and 8 in Warrington Township.

An appointment will be made to fill the position through December 3, 2017 and will be replaced by the person elected in the Municipal Election of 2017.

“The school board is the governing body of the school district with three basic functions: planning, setting policy, and evaluating results. Among other responsibilities, the board establishes school district policies; adopts an annual budget and sets the tax rate; approves expenditures, contracts, and personnel actions; adopts an annual school calendar; and approves textbooks and courses of study,” the district said in an announcement.

Candidates must be a citizen of Pennsylvania and at least 18 years old, of good moral character, and a resident of Voting Region 7, Districts 2, 6, 7, and 8, for at least one year prior to appointment, according to the requirements posted by the district.

All interested candidates should send a resume to School Board Secretary Sharon Reiner at: sreiner@cbsd.org by February 26. A vote on the new director appointment will take place at the March 8 board meeting.
