Warrington Man Beat Woman With Baseball Bat: Police

A 46-year-old Warrington man ​is facing felony charges after police said he repeatedly hit a woman with a baseball bat.

WARRINGTON, PA — A 46-year-old Warrington man is facing felony charges after police said he repeatedly hit a woman with a baseball bat on July 12.

According to Warrington Township Police, officers were called to the 2500 block of Erins Way just before 7:30 p.m. for the report of a disturbance. When officers arrived, they determined Chengzao Sun had struck a woman with an aluminum baseball bat "several times."

The victim had large, visible bruising on her thigh and back, Warrington Police Chief Daniel Friel said. She refused medical transport to a hospital, he added.

Sun was arraigned on aggravated assault charges and sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility after failing to make bail. He was released the next day after posting bail, which was set at 10 percent of $100,000.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 22, court documents indicate.
