It was a beautiful day to run for a cause at the Y RUN 5K and 1-mile fun run, which marked its 20th year as part of the Bucks 5k Series on March 28 with a fun-filled family running event. The race was the kickoff event for the Y’s annual campaign and the second race of the Bucks 5k Series, which will continue hosting local 5k’s throughout the community during the spring of 2015. Returning as the Platinum level sponsor for the YRUN 5k was First Savings Bank, a local business rooted in community with a passion for the Y mission and what they provide for the community.
The Y Run 5k featured the 5k, 1-mile fun run/walk and after-event community pasta dinner sponsored in part by ACME Markets in Doylestown.
Funds raised through the event help fund vital community impact programs at the Y including a cancer wellness program (THRIVE), free 7th grade memberships to area students, and a financial assistance program. Central Bucks Family YMCA is a charitable non-profit organization whose purpose is to improve the quality of community life.
