• Southern Armstrong Regional Police Chief Chris Fabec bids farewell to department (triblive.com) — Ford City residents will soon see a new top cop overseeing their regional police coverage as longtime Southern Armstrong Regional Police Chief Chris Fabec steps down and Captain Hunter Tackett is promoted to chief. The department, which Ford City joined in 2023, credits Fabec with expanding 24/7 coverage and strengthening cooperation among Gilpin, Freeport, and Ford City, and leaders say Tackett is prepared to continue that progress.
