LCM Subaru Surprises Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute with Donation
Volunteers from the retailer provided local cancer patients with warm blankets, care kits, messages of hope, plus a $10,000 donation to LLS.
Lancaster County Motors Subaru (LCM Subaru) partnered with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® (LLS) to to provide patients facing cancer at the Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute with a donation of 80 blankets, patient care kits and handwritten messages of hope as part of the national Subaru Loves to Care® initiative supporting children and families impacted by blood cancer.
Every three minutes, a new patient in the U.S. is diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma, or myeloma.* The treatment and rehabilitation process can often be long and arduous, leaving patients feeling cold, confined and in a weakened state. LCM Subaru’s donation helps to provide physical and emotional support during treatment. The donation of warm blankets and messages of encouragement is just one way LCM Subaru is committed to supporting the health and well-being of the community.
“We know how physically and emotionally difficult cancer treatment can be, and we hope that our donations today help to ease those challenges and provide comfort for these courageous members of our community and their families,” said Jonathan Furukawa, sales manager at LCM Subaru. “This is one of many ways LCM Subarugives back as part of the Subaru Love Promise, and we’re grateful for our partnership with LLS and Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute to make a meaningful impact.”
