The Haverford Township Free Library will host a screening of The Conspirator on Friday, November 4th at 7:00 PM in the Community Room. The film is part of the library’s monthly First Friday Flick program and is free and open to the public.
From director Robert Redford comes the riveting true story behind the assassination trial of Abraham Lincoln, including the lone woman who was accused of plotting his murder. This movie investigates the assassination of Lincoln on April 14, 1865 immediately after the Civil War and the role of one of the four conspirators, and trial of Mary Suratt, after the killing of John Wilkes Booth. The defense of the only woman, fingered in the plot not only to kill Lincoln but the Vice President and Secretary of State, is by a young Union Soldier.
