Felony Lane Gang Activity Suspected In Haverford Township: Cops

Police have dealt with a rash of thefts from vehicles and vehicle break-ins recently, leading them to suspect Felony Lane Gang activity.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA – Police in Haverford Township are reporting numerous vehicles have been broken into and had items stolen from them in what they suspect may be Felony Lane Gang activity after nearby police departments reported similar incidents.

According to police, they have gotten many reports of thefts from vehicles and vehicle break-ins over the recent months.

Police said they have received reports of two kinds of crimes: one where the suspect checks various vehicle doors and steals from unlocked vehicles, and one where vehicle windows are broken and then items stolen from them.

"Information has been developed indicating that there are two separate groups committing these crimes," police said of the first type of crime. "Most of the thefts from vehicles in the residential areas of the township have occurred during the overnight hours and involved unlocked vehicles."

According to police, the suspects walk into driveways and get into any unlocked vehicles they can find, taking small items, electronics, and change.

Luckily, police said they have arrested some of those involved in these thefts and are working to find out if those people are involved in other thefts in the township.

As for the other kind of crime, police believe it could be Felony Lane Gang activity.

In these crimes, vehicle windows are often broken into while parked in public parking lots at places such as shopping centers, country clubs, and fitness centers during daytime hours, police said.

Felony Lane Gang members will break into the vehicles, often owned or driven by women, and steal their bank cards and identification to later make fraudulent money withdrawal attempts.

"The Police department is working in conjunction with other area Police Agencies who have also had an increase in these types of crimes," police said.

The public should always lock unattended vehicles and remove any valuable items from inside vehicles to deter criminals from targeting vehicles.

Police said if you see a break-in happening to call 911 immediately and provide the following information:

  • Location - Provide an address, block number, or specific location in a parking lot.
  • Description of the suspect - Provide as much information as you can, i.e. sex, race, age, height, weight, hair color and length, color and length of facial hair, colors and style of clothing, and identifying marks such as tattoos and piercings.
  • Direction - If the suspect flees, give the direction of travel. If they flee on a bicycle or in a vehicle, describe the color, make, model, and license plate number, if it is safe to do so.

Recently, police in Marple, Springfield, and Radnor townships reported Felony Lane Gang-style activity.
