Fuel Tanks Burst During Tow Yard Fire In Havertown

Several vehicles caught fire in a tow yard on North Eagle Road in Havertown early Tuesday. Some fuels tanks burst, spreading fire around.

HAVERTOWN, PA – A fire tore through a towing yard early Tuesday morning in Havertown, causing several vehicles' fuel tanks to burst and spread the fire to a larger area, according to officials.

At about 4:30 a.m., the Manoa Fire Company was called to a tow yard at 1000 N. Eagle Road for a vehicle fire, the fire company said.

Upon arrival crews found four vehicles involved and exposing fire to numerous other vehicles, fire officials said.

Later, some of the vehicles' fuel tanks ruptured, causing the fire to spread.

After nearly two hours crews had the fire under control.

The fire company did not say if anyone was injured.
