Haverford HS Choral Arts Program Performs Final Concert of Year
The "Mostly A Cappella Concert" gets standing ovation.
The final concert of the year for the Chorale and Chambers singers is always bittersweet, but is considered a highlight of the school’s concert season.
The concert, held on Mother’s Day at the Ardmore Presbyterian Church in Ardmore, delivered its expected array of upbeat and mostly a cappella music. However, a few selections of music and performances stood out.
Some of the highlights were the performances by the men of the chamber singers with their rendition of “My Wild Irish Rose” and the chorale and chambers combined rendition of “Teach Your Children” by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.

A tradition at this year-end concert for the parents of graduating seniors to join current juniors on stage to sing “The Lord Bless You and Keep You,” as they send their teens off to college and into the world.
The finale, “Who built the Ark” brought a standing ovation for the students and many parents had the same reaction to the concert. Andy Gross, parent of junior Jared Gross, thought the concert “was very nice.” Tom Lloyd, father to graduating senior Devin Lloyd said, “It was great.”
