Haverford Twilight 5K Run/Walk: What You Need To Know

The event is back for 2022 and will benefit Haverford Township School District Education Foundation's Mini & Empowerment Grant programs.

HAVERFORD, PA — The Haverford Twilight 5K Run/Walk & Elementary School Challenge is back for 2022.

The event will take place at 4 p.m. Saturday at Haverford High School, 200 Mill Road in Havertown.

This event takes runners and walkers through the heart of Haverford Township, ending with a "Party on the Town" offering free and reduced cost food and beverage items from local pubs, restaurants, delis and dessert shops.

Race bibs act as tickets to the "party."

Elementary school competitors, parents with strollers, and youngsters ready to participate in their first timed race can participate in the Elementary School One Mile Challenge.

Kids and adults who want to test their mettle in an early spring run, can run the Twilight 5K.

Everyone else is invited to complete the 5K Walk on picturesque Darby Road, which will be closed to traffic during the event.

Haverford students registered for the event will be entered into a raffle to win three fun prizes.

Proceeds of the Twilight Run event benefit the Haverford Township School District Education Foundation’s Mini & Empowerment Grant programs whose mission is to fund innovative learning opportunities that inspire Haverford students.

This year’s Twilight Run is dedicated to the memory of the late Kathryn Cox.

Cox was a lifetime resident of Haverford Township, a community leader, founding member of the Haverford Township School District Education Foundation, first president of the Haverford Soccer Club, a supporter of Haverford public schools through the Education Foundation’s mission.

Since its inception in 2004, the Haverford Township School District Education Foundation has awarded more than 200 grants for innovative learning opportunities such as Discover Day, "One School, One Book," author visits, academic assemblies, robotics courses, community gardens, Art in the Classroom, math and reading learning centers, Yoga Kids, Best Buddies, Artist in Residence programs, audiobooks, PAWS for Reading, 3D printing, and more.
