Attempted Abduction Reported In Delco, Police Seek White Van

DARBY TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Delaware County are looking for a van involved in an attempted abduction of a young girl Tuesday afternoon.

According to Darby Township Police, the incident occurred just before 3:45 p.m. in the area of Tribbett Avenue and Hermesprota Drive in the township.

A white GMC Savana van with a Pennsylvania license plate approached an 8-year-old girl.

The driver — described as a dark-skinned Black man wearing a white tank top with visible tattoos on his arms and a thin build — got out of the van, walked toward the girl and said "let's grab her," according to police.

Another man, described as a light-skinned Black man, was inside the van, police said.

Specific details on how the girl got away were not immediately available but police confirmed she was not abducted and is safe with family.
