Robber Who Hit Delco, Philly Banks Sought By Police

Deion Johnson is suspected of robbing a Delaware County bank on Tuesday, Nov. 14, as well as a Philadelphia bank on Oct. 25, police said.

The FBI/Philadelphia Police Department Violent Crimes Task Force is searching for a man wanted in connection with bank robberies in Delaware County and Philadelphia. Authorities are hoping the public can help them locate the man to bring him to justice.

Police said Deion Johnson, whose last known address on the 5800 block of Fernwood Street in Philadelphia, is sought in connection with a robbery at the Santander Bank branch at 115 Chester Ave. in Yeadon that occurred Tuesday, Nov. 14. Johnson is also sought in connection with an Oct. 25 robbery of the Philadelphia Federal Credit Union at 5000 Baltimore Ave. in Philadelphia.

Johnson is described as a black male in his late teens to early 20s, about 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall with a thin build.

During the incident in Yeadon on Nov. 14, he was wearing a hooded sweatshirt with a distinctive print design and white or light-colored pants, police said.

According to police, on Oct. 25, a man, believed to be Johnson, entered the Philadelphia Federal Credit Union shortly after it opened and asked about opening an account. Johnson left when he didn't have his identification on him, police said.

He then allegedly came back, approached a teller, and presented a threatening demand note, police said.

According to police, Johnson got an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the area on foot, police said. He was last seen heading east on Baltimore Avenue toward 50th Street.

In that incident, he was wearing a burgundy hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, blue jeans, and sneakers.

Then on Nov. 14, police said Johnson robbed the Santander Bank in Yeadon at about 1:39 p.m.

Police said a man thought to be Johnson entered the bank, presented a demand note, and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Johnson is considered armed and dangerous, police said.
