Stolen Car, Identity Theft, Fraud: Haverford Police Blotter

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA – The latest Haverford Township Police Department crime blotter is out, and it covers police-handled incidents that occurred between July 12 and July 16.

Police handled several cases of theft, fraud, burglary, and criminal mischief. A stolen vehicle was also reported.

The blotter contains arrests made and citations issued in that time.

INCIDENTS:

• Motor Vehicle Theft at the 1700 block of Tyson Road on July 12 at 9:43 p.m.
• Fraud on the unit block of Whitemarsh Road on July 12 at 3:40 p.m. – Victim reported that an unknown actor had deposited a computer generated check fraudulently issued by his business. The withdraw attempt was frozen and they did not sustain a financial loss.
• Fraud on the 300 block of Greenview Lane on July 12 at 7:15 p.m. – Victim reported that someone made an unauthorized purchase with her Kohl’s credit card.
• Fraud on the 900 block of Coopertown Road on July 12 at 9:52 a.m. – Four unauthorized purchases were made with the victim’s debit card.
• Identity Theft on the unit block of Chelten Road on July 12 at 4:39 p.m. – Victim reported that someone opened a Verizon account using his identity.
• Attempted Burglary on the 300 block of Cherry Lane on July 13 at 9:04 a.m. – An unknown person attempted to gain entry through a rear window. Unlocked vehicle was entered and loose change was stolen.
• Attempted Burglary on the 1600 block of Hampton Road on July 13 at 4:28 p.m. – Victim reported that someone attempted to force their way into the residence through the front door.
• Theft on the 2500 block of Wynnefield Drive on July 13 at 8:37 a.m. – Vehicle was entered, laptop, iPad and loose change was stolen.
• Bicycle Theft on the 100 block of Columbus Avenue on July 13 at 10:03 a.m.
• Bicycle Theft at Panera Bread, 100 block of W. Township Line Road, on July 13 at 12:10 p.m.
• Theft on the 300 block of Cherry Lane on July 13 at 4:57 p.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered, a wallet containing $50, driver’s license and debit card was stolen.
• Theft on the 100 block of Cedarbrook Road on July 13 at 3 a.m. – Vehicle was entered, loose change was stolen.
• Attempted Theft on the 200 block of Shawnee Road on July 13 at 2:01 a.m. – Vehicle was entered, nothing was reported missing.
• Criminal Mischief at Lawrence Hill Apartments, 1900 block of Lawrence Road, on July 13 at 11:47 a.m. – Fence was cut in the rear of the property.
• Criminal Mischief on the 400 block of Devon Road on July 13 at 9:17 p.m. – Two glass panes were shattered on the front door of the residence.
• Criminal Mischief on the 200 block of N. Belfield Avenue on July 14 at 5:21 p.m. – Vehicle was egged.
• Burglary on the 400 block of Covington Road on July 16 at 2:32 p.m. – Entry was gained through an unsecured rear door. Beer, a bag of Tostitos and Twizzlers was stolen. A black male, 21 was arrested.
• Theft on the 200 block of Pickwick Road on July 16 at 3:48 p.m. – Police responded to the above location for a suspicious male looking into parked vehicles. A black male, 21 was arrested.
• Fraud on the unit block of N. Belfield Avenue on July 16 at 6:52 p.m. – Victim reported that someone attempted to make a $1,200 purchase with her credit card without her permission or knowledge.

ARRESTS:

• White male, 19, unit block of W. Hillcrest Avenue, Havertown. Charges: Possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia with the intent to deliver. Location: unit block of W. Hillcrest Avenue. Date: July 10 at 4:40 p.m.
• White female, 66, 200 block of Strathmore Road, Havertown. Charges: DUI, careless driving and accidents involving damage to attended vehicle. Location: W. Eagle Road and W. Hillcrest Avenue. Date: July 13 at 1:29 p.m.
• White male, 40, 1900 block of West Chester Pike, Havertown. Charges: Warrant. Location: Hollow Run Apartments, 1900 block of West Chester Pike). Date: July 14 at 2:09 p.m.
• White male, 27, unit block of Hendel Street, Shillington. Charges: DUI and careless driving. Location: 200 block of West Chester Pike. Date: July 15 at 12:32 a.m.
• Black male, 52, 4200 block of Powelton Avenue, Philadelphia. Charges: Possession of drug paraphernalia, public drunkenness and loitering and prowling at night. Location: 1900 block of Melrose Avenue. Date: July 16 at 2:30 a.m.
• Black male, 21, Homeless. Charges: Burglary, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, possession of instrument of crime and theft from a motor vehicle. Location: 200 block of Pickwick Road. Date: July 16 at 3:48 p.m.
