Tree Planting To Honor Slain Havertown Teen Nicholas Elizalde
Nicolas Elizalde, 14, of Havertown, died after being shot outside Roxborough High School when a football scrimmage ended.
HAVERTOWN, PA — A tree planting in Havertown will honor the late Nicolas Elizalde, who was killed in Philadelphia earlier this year.
The Cub Scout Pack Elizalde, 14, belonged to is planting a tree Tuesday in his name at Lynnewood Elementary School in Havertown, where he attended school.
Tree planting will begin at 3:30 p.m. wit site prep work, dole digging, and tree placement.

Then, the final planting and a brief ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m.
A more formal ceremony will be held in the spring.

In attendance will be Scouts from Elizalde's former troop, Cub Scouts from his former pack, the Cubmaster of the pack when he was a member, and his mother.
Elizalde and four other boys were shot outside Foxborough High School on Sept. 27 when a football scrimmage let out.
Four people are in custody in connection with the shooting, and one remains a fugitive of justice.
Lynnewood Elementary School is located at 1400 Lawrence Road in Havertown.
