Upper Darby Police Chief's New Cell Phone Stolen During Delivery
Chief Michael Chitwood was supposed to get a new cell phone, but it was discovered someone opened the box and snatched the phone.

UPPER DARBY, PA – Upper Darby Police Chief Michael Chitwood was supposed to have a shiny new cell phone in hand this week. But it was discovered the phone was snatched from its box somewhere along the delivery route.
Police posted about the stolen phone on Twitter and on Facebook, seemingly taking it all in stride.
"To the individual that stole (Chief Chitwood's) new cell phone while it was in route to the station via courier: 1. That thing goes off at 4am every morning 2. Don't call out the UDPD helicopter you'll only be disappointed and 3," police said on Twitter. "Thanks for the bubble wrap-it made our day."

Officers joked further by placing the empty package and bubble wrap on Chitwood's desk and added the receiver of a corded phone to make it even more ridiculous.
According to the Philly Voice, the box's shipping label had been sliced open and re-taped to appear as if it was untampered.
