Wires Burst Into Flames After Truck Crashes In Havertown
A truck struck a PECO utility pole Monday morning on West Chester Pike, causing major traffic delays as the wires burned.

HAVERTOWN, PA – A truck crashed into a utility pole in Havertown early Monday morning, causing PECO wires to burst into flames as they came crashing down.
The crash occurred at about 4:30 a.m. at West Chester Pike and Country Club Lane, according to the Manoa Fire Company.
Crews responded to the area for a report of an overturned vehicle and found a box truck on its side with power line down and fire on the scene.

NBC10 reports the driver was able to get out of the vehicle and refused medical treatment.

As of 9 a.m., PECO said about five customers are affected by the downed wires and said full service is expected to be restored by 2 p.m.
The fire company said drivers should expect major traffic delays in the area, but westbound traffic on West Chester Pike has begun moving, NBC reports.
There is no word on what caused the accident at this time.
