'Book Cafe' Raises Money for School Dances

St. Michael the Archangel's Middle School hosted a Scholastic Book Fair and Cafe from Sept. 21 to Sept. 23. Proceeds will help fund the school, its library and school dances.

St. Michael the Archangel Middle School students recently took to their school's multipurpose room, where a Scholastic Book Fair and "Book Cafe" were held Sept. 21 to Sept. 23.

The book fair, which is held twice yearly, is sponsored by the St. Michael the Archangel Home and School Association and raises money for the school and its library.

In conjunction with this fall's book fair, organizers set up a cafe that featured dining tables, comfortable chairs, hot chocolate and snacks for students to purchase.

"The extra money earned from the sale of drinks and baked goods will help fund Middle School dances," the school explained in a news release.

Students had the opportunity to visit the cafe during class one day, and during recess the following two days. While enjoying the experience of being in a cafe, they also had the opportunity to relax with friends and shop for books.
