Local Teen Hopes to Win Nashville Recording Session

Saucon Valley junior Kayli Reily is among 10 finalists in the OneMain Financial CT40 Future Star contest.

An aspiring country singer from the Hellertown area is among 10 finalists for the grand prize in the OneMain Financial CT40 Future Star contest, her aunt, Brenda King, announced recently.

Kayli Reily is currently a junior at , where she will perform one of the lead roles in the spring musical "Aida," King said.

In Reily's entry video featured on the contest website, she performs "The House That Built Me" by Miranda Lambert.

Out of a field of 40 finalists, Reily was selected by music industry judges to advance to the top 10 on Jan. 22, King explained.

The contest's grand prize is an all-expenses-paid, four-night stay in Nashville, plus $500 in spending money and a recording session on the city's famed Music Row.

The winner will have the opportunity to record with the Trifectone Music Group at Cool Tools Audio, and will also get to meet country music star Ronnie Dunn, as well as executives from Sony Music Nashville/Arista Records.

According to the contest website, Dunn will listen to the winner's song, and the trip to Nashville will take place in late February.

King said her niece is "excited" to have made it to the final round of contestants.

"We are really proud of her and thought it would be nice to get the news out locally," she said.
