Saucon Valley Grad Dances in Lock Haven Concert
Chelsea Smith, who is a sophomore at Lock Haven University, performed in the school's semi-annual Dance Concert the weekend of Dec. 2.

A graduate recently performed in a semi-annual Dance Concert at Lock Haven University, where she is majoring in Middle and Elementary School Education (Grades 4-8), the school has announced.
Chelsea Smith, of Hellertown, was one of four local students who participated in the concert the weekend of Dec. 2. Other dancers from the area included Meghan Dashe, Stephanie De Jesus and Isabelle Rivera, all of Bethlehem.
The concert featured more than 100 dancers who performed various forms of dance, including ballet, jazz and modern styles.

"The director the dance program, Jayme K. Host, choreographed many of the dances," a Dec. 14 press release indicated. "There were several student-choreographed dances as well...(and) the concert featured the choreography of Mark D. Lingenfelter, who has done choreography for Susquehanna University as well as several off-Broadway plays."
Lock Haven students have the opportunity to minor in dance.

A spring Dance Concert will take place in the school's Sloan Fine Arts Auditorium on April 27 and 28 at 7pm, with a matinee at 3pm on April 28.
