What are the top issues currently facing your position and how do you plan to address them?
One of the top issues facing the Hatboro-Horsham School Board involves ensuring excellence in teaching and learning, which requires the District to provide a safe, healthy, welcoming environment for all of its students. To support this, I actively participate in equity work, curriculum development, professional development, safety, and mental health matters, and policies that will enable each student to achieve their potential.

Another issue is the consistent need to dispel rumors, misinformation, and disinformation that is spread regarding the work of the District and the School Board. For my part, I persistently and honestly report on Board Committee activities, support more opportunities for community engagement, and encourage the District’s clear statement of how it reaches its decisions, especially concerning what is taught and why it is being taught.

Identify specific goals or ideas you have to enhance life in your position:
It is important to be active and engaged as a school board member. I will continue my active role in curriculum development, individualization of instruction, and excellence in teaching and learning, mental health, and transparency. I am specifically encouraging updating the District’s website to make it more easily maneuverable for parents and others in the community to find information about curriculum and policies that affect the students directly.

What in your experience or background prepares you for election to office?
Education is my passion. I’ve devoted my entire adult life to the education of children as classroom teacher, multidisciplinary curriculum developer, and coordinator, with experience in personalized instruction and mobile devices. I was a teacher of teachers and literacy specialists as an adjunct professor of curricular technology. I am a good listener and communicator, and I care deeply about honesty and integrity.
