Hatboro Election Results: Republican Thomas Murt Wins

Election results: with nearly all precincts reporting, Republicans dominated the Hatboro-Horsham area state representative elections.

Incumbent State Rep. Thomas Murt (R-152) has defeated Democratic challenger Albert J. Dermovsesian in the race for the Hatboro area's representative in Pennsylvania's state Congress.

According to results issued by Montgomery County at around 10:50 p.m., Murt had won 18,327 votes, as compared to Dermovsesian's 10,212. That gives Murt a 64.22 percent advantage over 35.78 percent for Dermovsesian. A total of 31 of 33 precincts were reporting at press time.

Murt has worked as School Director and Township Commissioner. He was first elected to the state House in 2006. During his tenure, he has developed a reputation as an advocate for improving mental health treatment.

Similarly in Horsham, Republican Todd Stephens (R-151) looks to be on his way to soundly defeating Democratic challenger Jimmy Fagan Jr. With 29 of 34 precincts reporting, Stephens leads 63 percent to 36 percent.
