"Aleta always had a smile on her face and a kind word for all. She raised her family in Hatboro, traveled all over with her best friend and husband, served her community, and tried her best to do the right thing. She will be missed by many."

The borough is seeking applicants to replace Ostrander, who was first appointed to Borough Council in May 2006 and served until Dec. 31, 2011. She was re-elected to the council in 2019 and served a second term from Jan. 1, 2020, through the present time.

Borough officials said they would post more information soon about paying tribute to Ostrander.
