HATBORO, PA —An American flag was posted in the front of Ross & Co. —Kitchen, Taps, Cocktails is one step closer to opening its new eatery at the former Bernie's restaurant on South York Road.

Owner Bob Ross told Patch Wednesday that he's planning an opening for mid-May, though he does not have a specific date yet.

Ross recently received approval from Hatboro Borough Council for a liquor license.

Ross took over the GypsyBlu Amber location in June 2020 during the pandemic and has the business thriving, winning numerous Best of Montgomery County restaurant awards.

Ross signed a lease for the building in mid-November and immediately began making changes. He hoped to open just after the new year but there was more work to do than originally anticipated, besides getting the liquor license.

Ross said that the menu will be similar to GypsyBlu, which serves upscale, casual American fare and is known for specialty cocktails and an extensive wine list.

Bernie's closure came just after a raid by state authorities last year for a liquor license violation.
