Warminster Bridge Dedication For Fallen Soldier Saturday
State Rep. Nancy Guenst is paying tribute to John Kulick, a Hatboro man who was killed in Iraq in 2005.

HATBORO, PA —As a youngster, John Kulick was infatuated with fire engines.
He wanted to be in a firehouse every chance he got and showed up at every open house at a fire station whenever they were held.
The borough native began volunteering at age 16 with the Enterprise Fire Company. He worked his way up to the rank of Deputy Chief.

Kulick's service to the fire departments and his country will be recognized during a bridge dedication from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday arranged by State Rep. Nancy Guenst, a U.S. Army veteran.
Due to the dedication, Warminster Road will be closed from York Road to Fulmor Avenue from 9:30 a.m-11:30 a.m.
Kulick enlisted in the PA Army National Guard Alpha Company of the 1st Battalion – 111th Infantry regiment (Mechanized), where he achieved specialist rank.
He was deployed to Iraq in 2004 and was killed in action in Bayji, Iraq on August 9th, 2005, when a mine exploded while in their Humvee and enemy forces attacked with small-arms fire.
“John spent most of his life in Hatboro," Guenst said. " He began volunteering with the Enterprise Fire Company in Hatboro when he was 16. He even made it his career – and began his paid firefighting career for the Whitpain Township Fire Department. He was a community-focused individual – always looking for ways to give back to those around him."
Kulick is survived by his daughter, Amanda Kulick, who resides in Florida. She was expected to attend the ceremony.
Guenst will present the family with a citation, the flag flying over the state capitol, flowers and a faux sign that will look like the one at the bridge.
Among the dedication speakers are:
- Senator Maria Collett
- Fire Chief Fred Zollers, Enterprise Fire Company
- Diane Hegele, Hatboro Borough Manager
- Dave Camarda, Fire Marshall, Whitpain Township Fire Company
- Dave Cell, friend and coworker of John from Willow Grove Air Base
