Whiz Kid - Meet Olivia P. Stasio

Blair Mill Elementary School fourth-grader publishes her first book.

Hatboro-Horsham Patch's first Whiz Kid recipient is Olivia P. Stasio, a fourth- grader at Blair Mill Elementary school.  Olivia is the proud author of the book “Christopher and the Balance Beam." She started writing the book about three years ago and is now a published author at the young age of 9!

As stated in the Preface: “This story celebrates Life.  We wrote it, put in sketches and added photos to indicate that love is more powerful than one’s own fear or the force of a bully. Love makes us happy, builds us up and sets us free."

The principal of Blair Mill Elementary, Nancy Doherty says “Olivia is a wonderful young lady who shows great interest and excitement for the world around her. She is a bright, intuitive, enthusiastic, and creative student. It is no wonder that she collaborated with her grandfather to co-author such a powerful story. Her sister Sophie’s illustrations are pretty terrific, as well. We are excited to have Olivia introduce the book to her schoolmates in the near future.”

Olivia contributed to the school’s library by giving them a copy of her book.  Librarian, Jennifer O’Leary said “Olivia is a joy to teach. She is a creative and caring student that seeks to make an impact in the world around her. Her gentle and compassionate nature is evident through her book.  We are so proud of her accomplishments in writing this thought-provoking story and we look forward to including her book in our library collection."
