PA: CamTran invites public to share memories as it marks 50th anniversary (masstransitmag.com) — CamTran is celebrating 50 years since taking over from Johnstown Traction Co. and is inviting Johnstown-area riders, employees, and neighbors to share personal stories for its "50 Stories for 50 Years" campaign. The milestone comes after a busy year that included reopening the Johnstown Inclined Plane and expanding services like Medical Assistance Transportation and the CamTran PAY fare app.

2. The world's steepest funicular is open for mountain bikers in Johnstown, Pennsylvania again (singletracks.com) — Johnstown residents once again have easy access to the Inclined Plane Trails now that the Johnstown Inclined Plane has reopened, with free rides for everyone through October 10. Mountain bikers can haul their bikes at no extra charge, then lap 14 downhill-focused trails using a $15 day bracelet once the free period ends. The funicular currently operates Thursday through Sunday.

Femoen Paces Men's Golf to Sixth Place Finish on Day One From Sunnehanna (wucardinals.com) — Men's college golfers from Wheeling University are competing in the Sunnehanna Invitational in Johnstown, sitting sixth after nearly two rounds with play to finish Tuesday. Several players shot or approached even par on the opening 18, with one carding a 69. Local fans may spot the teams on the course again today as round three begins at 10 a.m.

4. Cambria County woman sentenced for 2nd degree murder, kidnapping in teens death (wtaj.com) — A 22-year-old Johnstown woman has been sentenced to 50 years to life in prison for her role in the 2022 kidnapping and killing of 19-year-old Hayden Garreffa in Indiana County. Investigators say Garreffa, who was autistic, was lured into a van by eight people before being fatally stabbed multiple times and left in a remote wooded area.
