3-Alarm Fire Severely Damages Lower Salford Homes Sunday Night

The escalating blaze raged amid the Super Bowl Sunday night.

LOWER SALFORD, PA — A three-alarm fire devastated homes in a Lower Salford neighborhood on Sunday night amid the Eagles Super Bowl game.

The incident began at around 7:15 p.m. on Shirley Drive.

It's not yet clear if there were any injuries, but at least two homes were severely damaged by the fire.

The blaze began in the garage of the home, which is attached to the main home, and quickly spread to other rowhomes that were also attached.

"Our thoughts are with all of the families affected by this incident," the Upper Gwynedd Township Fire department shared in a statement.

A second alarm was called at 7:30 p.m. and a third at around 7:45 p.m.

The fire was brought under control before 9:30 p.m.

The cause is still under investigation.

Harleysville Community Fire Company was supported by Towamencin, Upper Gwynedd, Worcester, and numerous other local departments.
