$65 Million 'Green' Expansion Launched At Montco Manufacturing Company
The massive investment will create 355 jobs, and the company says they're still on track to reach net zero emissions by 2045.
SOUDERTON, PA — A massive manufacturing company broke ground on a new $65 million expansion in Montgomery County this week, marking a significant development in the county's economy and business infrastructure.
The global company, Almac Group, is building the 115,000 square foot addition on the campus of its North American headquarters, located in Souderton just off Fretz Road.
Some 355 new jobs are expected to come with the expansion by 2026, Almac officials said, and it will allow the company to increase its production by roughly 60 percent.

“Today’s ceremony is a welcome sign of the continuation of growth for the Almac Group," Alan Armstrong, Almac Group Chairman and CEO, said in a statement. "I would like to thank all within the organisation for playing their part in our success. We are committed to reinvesting all our profits back into the business, and this expansion in Pennsylvania will play a vital part in our continued growth.”
Almac says they're still on track to reach net zero emissions by 2045, in part because the construction plans call for the development to meet U.S. Green Building Council LEED certification standards. Almac is also installing a 140 foot pedestrian bridge to minimize environmental impact and to enhance walkability for employees and visitors.
