Ben Hartranft, Mayor Of North Penn, Appears On The Ellen Show

LANSDALE, PA — North Penn graduate and autism advocate Ben Hartranft has never been afraid of the spotlight. Especially when he can use that spotlight to help raise awareness for the causes which he champions.

Now, Hartranft is making an appearance on his biggest stage yet: The Ellen Show.

Hartranft, who is on the autism spectrum, will discuss his work with the Eagles Autism Challenge and his journey as a difference maker and beloved member of the North Penn community.

"Ben opens up about being diagnosed with autism at 2-years-old when he could only speak 20 words and jokes how he now doesn’t stop talking," Ellen Show organizers said in describing the episode. "Ben discusses the importance of raising awareness for autism and chats about being an Ambassador for the Philadelphia Eagles Autism Challenge, which raises money to support autism research."

In addition, Hartranft receives a special surprise from Eagle Jon Dorenbos, and Ellen announces that she's donating $10,000 to the Eagles Autism Challenge.

It's been a dream of Hartranft's to be on The Ellen Show for some time, as an online campaign, including multiple YouTube videos, aligned him with Ellen's One Million Acts of Good initiative.

It's been quite a year for Hartranft, who had the chance to spend some time with the Eagles' Jason Kelce at Dorney Park this summer.

Hartranft's show will air on Monday, Oct. 22 on NBC 10 at 3 p.m.
