Blue Bell's Martha's Food Pantry Wins Major Grant From Giant
The Giant competition awarded $500,000 to 20 different community organizations around the region.
BLUE BELL, PA — A Blue Bell non-profit organization was among the beneficiaries of the supermarket chain Giant's $500,000 donation to local communities.
Chipping Hill Micro Farms will receive a chunk of that donation, for its role in "creating a future that promotes healthier people and a healthier planet," Giant said. Chipping Hill teaches Montgomery County children how to grow their own food, while also subsidizing local school food.
“Our community partners have always played a crucial role in making a difference in the local communities the Giant Company has served for the past 100 years,” Giant's President John Ruane said in a statement. “To recognize and to help move their projects forward is truly an honor, as together, we can help create healthier communities."
