While planning for college should be an exciting process, students with learning challenges often have their own unique set of questions, concerns and needs. Getting advice from special education students who have “been there, done that” can provide a source of tremendous relief to high school students and parents who are gearing up for the college experience.
To help special education students, parents and their teachers become better prepared for transitional issues that college students face, North Penn Parents Special Education Council is pleased to present “High School: the Student Perspective” on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 7 PM in the North Penn Educational Services Center. During this dynamic and interactive session, a panel of college students with special education needs will share their personal experiences and discuss how they successfully transitioned into college. A broad spectrum of topics related to post secondary education…academics, counseling, time management, independent living strategies, socializing and more will be shared during this lively discussion.
