Alan Morrison, College Organist at Ursinus College, will present a Heefner Memorial Organ Recital in Bomberger Auditorium. The program will include pieces by Charles Tournemire (1870–1939); Maurice Duruflé (1902-1986); Louis Vierne (1870–1937); and John Weaver.
Alan Morrison is Chairman of the Organ Department at The Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, Adjunct Assistant Professor at Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton, N.J., as well as organist at Ursinus College. He maintains a versatile career as recitalist, chamber musician, orchestral soloist, adjudicator, teacher and recording artist.
His performance during the inaugural festival of the Dobson organ in Verizon Hall drew laudatory reviews from numerous national publications. He is a regular performer at The Kimmel Center where he also serves as an artistic adviser. His latest CD from Verizon Hall features the Organ Concerto by Eric Sessler, with The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, and other solo works. Season performances include recitals in Los Angeles, Atlanta, San Antonio and Orlando, as well as Verizon Hall at The Kimmel Center.

He has the distinct honor of having been chosen by his peers to perform for four national conventions of the American Guild of Organists, as well as numerous regional conventions and has won top prizes in numerous competitions, among them the Silver Medal at the Calgary International Organ Festival and First Prize in both the Mader and Poister National Organ Competitions.
He is a graduate of both The Curtis Institute of Music and The Juilliard School of Music receiving degrees in both organ and piano accompanying/chamber music.
