Five Points Intersection Work Continues This Week In Montgomery Twp.

Delays should be expected.

MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP, PA — Roadwork will continue this week on the Five Points Intersection in Montgomery Township as the massive $14.2 million project takes its next steps.

Utility work will lead to lane closures on multiple roads this week. Closures are set from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, and from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday through Friday.

  • Route 463 (Cowpath Road/Horsham Road) between Lansdale Avenue and North Wales Road.
  • Business U.S. 202 (Doylestown Road) between Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike) and Betty's Avenue.
  • Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike) between North Wales Road to McLaughlin Road.

PennDOT said that delays should be expected and motorists should plan for delays.

New lanes will be added in both directions on Route 463 and Route 309. The widened roadway will mean that 18 different travel lanes approach the intersection, as opposed to the original 15. PennDOT says the changes will "improve traffic flow and reduce crashes."

Traffic signals will also be upgraded and retimed, new sidewalks and ADA curb ramps will be added, as well as improved stormwater drainage and work on reducing area erosion sediment.
