Gallery: Gingerbread Clinic At The Lansdale Library

To help local children enjoy the creative side of the holiday season, the Lansdale Library hosted an gingerbread-house building event on Thursday evening.

"We provided cardboard forms in the shape of a house and the kids are using icing, graham crackers and all different types of candies to decorate however they like," said Tom Meyer, director of the Lansdale Library.  "It's great.  It looks like everyone is having a lot fun, and the one girl was shaping the gum drops into a wreath.  It's amazing the things they're coming up with."

Though there was no fee for admission this year, Meyer said he'd like to see the event grow into a fundraiser by this time next year.

"We're doing it this year as a trial but we hope to do it next year as a fundraiser," said Meyer.  "We didn't charge this year but next year we're probably going to charge $5 or $10.  Hopefully we can do it earlier in the season so we can get some houses on display with the Festival of Trees."
