The skull was first spotted just before noon Monday by a surveyor doing contracting work near a water retention basin. The basin sits just off of the intersection of Welsh Road and Grist Mill Drive, near Orvilla Road.

Police said they quickly secured a wide perimeter around the area to ensure that nothing else was disturbed. As they continued their search, they found additional human remains in addition to the skull, along with remnants of clothing.
