Lansdale-Area Election Results: Robert Godshall Wins State Representative Race

Breaking: election results are in. Lansdale-area's Robert Godshall defended his seat in the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives.

Update, 10:58 p.m.:

Republican Robert Godshall, the incumbent, has defeated Democrat Leon Angelichio. With 32 of 34 precincts reporting, Godshall holds a 16,834-11,634 vote lead.

Democrat Leon Angelichio is taking on Republican Robert Godshall to represent the Lansdale area - the state's 53rd Legislative District - in the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives.

The 53rd District encompasses Lansdale, Hatfield, Franconia, Souderton, the Montgomery County portion of Telford, and Salford. Check here for results of the race as the night progresses.

Angelichio is a North Wales native who has lived in Lansdale for 16 years, according to his campaign biography. He has served as a member of the Lansdale Democratic Committee for 10 years, and is an HVAC Licensed Master Technician. He's also owned a small business - Angie Mechanical - for six years.

Angelichio notes his top priorities as a legislator as "sustainable budgeting, education, and women's health issues."

His opponent is Robert Godshall, the Republican incumbent. Godshall has been in the House since 1982 and has been the chairman of the House Consumer Affairs Committee since 2007. He grew up on his family farm near Souderton before graduating from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business. He also served for 17 years on the Souderton School Board.
