Lansdale Borough Council Sells 311 West Main, Site Of Proposed Arts Center

The former Masonic Hall had been acquired by Lansdale in hopes of creating an Arts Center downtown.

Lansdale, PA -- The borough of Lansdale has announced that the property at 311 West Main Street was sold during a recent Borough Council meeting.

The former Masonic Hall had been acquired by Lansdale in hopes of creating an Arts Center downtown.

The building was put on the market for bids in 2015, but the borough so that there were no responses.

The council added that after a request for proposals was issued, the borough received two different responses. The council agreed to sell the building to M.E.H. Investments for $310,000.

As a provision of the sale, M.E.H. will need to keep the newly renovated facade, which showcases downtown's unique architecture, the borough said.

Tentative plans would bring commercial development to the first floor of the property, and residential development to the higher floors, according to the borough's website.
