Lansdale Native, Bible Teacher Sexually Assaulted Teen: Police
A trial has been set for the man, also a soccer coach in Alabama, who police say sexually assaulted a 16-year-old student.
LANSDALE, PA — A Lansdale native and bible teacher most recently living in Alabama has been charged with sexually assaulting a teenage girl, according to authorities there.
Jonathan Sauers, 46, was first arrested back in March 2023. He will stand trial next month.
The incidents occurred while Sauers taught at Faith Academy, a Christian school in Mobile, police said. In addition to teaching bible studies, he was also a science teacher and soccer coach.

He is no longer employed by the school.
The victim was a 16-year-old student, according to the Mobile District Attorney's Office.

Alabama's Fox10 reports the assault occurred while the victim was at Walmart. Sauers picked her up in his vehicle and drove her to a different parking lot, where he had sex with her, the report states.
The trial is set to take place during the final week of March.
