Lansdale Police 'Ticketing' Kids For Good Deeds

Operation Chill helps local kids get free slurpees.

LANSDALE, PA — The Lansdale Police Department has ramped up their summer "enforcement" by "ticketing" kids who are do good acts for their community.

This "citation" will be in the form of a coupon for free 7-Eleven slurpees.

Operation Chill is a partnership between the department and 7-Eleven to help reward good behavior.

"If you need a good Brain Freeze, please ask officers on patrol and see if they have any coupons," police said. "AND if we catch you doing something positive you may just find yourself receiving a coupon!!"

In the past, the community policing initiative has recognized kids for wearing bicycle helmets, participating in community activities, or helping their parents.
