'Large Scale' Fire Tanker Drill To Be Held In Harleysville

HARLEYSVILLE, PA — A major drill will be hosted by the Harleysville Fire Company on Tuesday evening, officials have announced.

The event will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will take up routes that go along both Oak Drive and Schoolhouse Road.

Multiple fire departments from the local area will be involved in the drill, which will start at 6:30 p.m.

Officials described the drill as "very critical" to their preparation and response. Participants will practice firefighters' "ability to flow large amount of water with tanker trucks," organizers said.

Motorists should exercise caution when driving int he area. Fire police will be located along the routes to ensure safety.
