MCCC Touts 'Green Cuisine' Program in National Video Contest

The Culinary Arts Institute at Montgomery County Community College is cooking up green cuisine—and it wants the world to know. A video about the Culinary Arts Institute's sustainability practices has been entered into a national contest.
Since opening its doors in August 2013, the college’s Culinary Arts Institute has partnered with Sustainable Waste Solutions to convert 100 percent of its waste into energy or materials. That means trash, recycling and food trimmings are kept out of a landfill.

The competition is a collaboration between Planet Forward and Second Nature, which seeks to create a sustainable society by transforming higher education. The videos feature the top climate-related ideas from colleges across the country, according contest organizers.
