Montgomery County Awarded For Providing Commuting Alternatives
Montgomery County is increasingly becoming more walkable and more bikeable.

NORRISTOWN, PA — Montgomery County was recognized this week for its work in providing alternative commuting methods to residents.
The award for Transportation Demand Management came from the Greater Valley Forge Transportation Management Association, who noted that the award recognized the highest level of sustainability.
“This award recognizes the teamwork and creative thinking of our staff. It represents the diligent efforts they made in the past, the ongoing push to make our communities connected and sustainable, and the bright future for those who live and work in Montgomery County,” said Dr. Val Arkoosh, Chair, Montgomery County Commissioners, in a statement.

Specifically, the Montco 2040 plan has endeavored to make the entire county a more walkable and bikeable place. GVF noted particularly the county's efforts to inform individuals who work in the county of commuting alternatives.
"Montgomery County continues to be a leader in caring how employees and residents move throughout the county," said Rob Henry, GVF Executive Director. "The leadership from the commissioners to our friends at the planning commission are what make the county a Diamond level recipient which is the highest recognition we have."
