Montgomeryville's Ocean State Job Lot Offering Free Mask Fabric
Residents can pick up free fabric at the new Ocean State Job Lot to create homemade face masks.
MONTGOMERYVILLE, PA — The new Ocean State Job Lot, which recently opened last month, has announced a special offer in an effort to help fight the coronavirus outbreak.
Every customer is invited to pick up free fabric so that they can make their own homemade cloth masks. On April 3, Gov. Wolf called on all Pennsylvania residents to wear masks when they leave their homes.

Every customer is limited to five units of fabric, to ensure as many people as possible can benefit from the program.
The fabric is a high quality cotton-polyester blend, according to Ocean State.

“During this critically-important time, it’s our responsibility as community partners to think outside of the box and provide as much assistance as we can,” Paul Conforti, Chief Marketing Officer of Ocean State Job Lot, said in a statement. “While we’ve been focused on sourcing critical supplies and medical grade masks for healthcare professionals and first responders battling COVID-19, our ‘Mask Fabric For Free’ campaign specifically focuses on the needs of everyday people who are looking for responsible ways to protect themselves and others.”
Pennsylvania state has provided these guidelines and instructions for people to make their own mask.
There are also numerous online tutorials for making face masks on YouTube. Online retailers, including Etsy, are currently selling the cloth masks, but shipping times vary.
The company also announced that they've utilized their supply chain to source one million surgical and N95 face masks for healthcare facilities around the northeast.
Ocean State Job Lot is located at 980 Bethlehem Pike in Montgomeryville.
